Project Type: New 62m² classroom for 30 pupils
Project Overview
When existing classrooms at Mill Lane School in Chinnor were condemned, the school needed additional teaching space while plans for a new classroom block progressed.
With the new school year providing a fixed deadline, BGR Modular Classrooms designed and built a purpose-built 62m² classroom for 30 pupils, ready for the start of the September term.
Construction began on site on 6 July 2026 and the completed classroom was ready for pupils on 4 September, just 60 calendar days later. The project was delivered on time and within budget.
Designed for Everyday School Life
The new classroom provides a spacious, naturally lit teaching environment designed for year-round use. Fully insulated with air source heat pump to provide efficient year round comfort for the children and staff.

Built On Site. Built Around the School.
Unlike modular classrooms that are manufactured as fixed units elsewhere and transported to site, BGR classrooms are constructed directly at the school.
For Mill Lane School, this gave BGR the flexibility to create a permanent 62m² classroom tailored to the school’s needs, while working within a demanding programme to have the building ready for the new September term.
Because the building is constructed on site, BGR can also adapt the size, layout and height to suit the available space, without many of the transport restrictions associated with factory-built modular units.
The Outcome
Mill Lane School gained a bright, modern teaching space ready for pupils returning for the new academic year.
By constructing the classroom directly on site, BGR was able to deliver a permanent, purpose-built solution around the school’s requirements and complete the entire project within the available programme.
From starting construction on 6 July to pupils using the classroom on 4 September, the project demonstrates how BGR can respond quickly to urgent requirements without compromising on the quality or specification of the finished building.
